This October, Collabora Productivity were thrilled to be involved once again in Hacktoberfest, the global open-source hacking festival. Having started this initiative in 2022, we’re excited to say that this year’s event brought together a fantastic community of contributors who tackled over 20 Hacktoberfest-tagged issues, along with numerous other beginner and intermediate tasks designed to get developers engaged.
It is wonderful to be part of a vibrant community who choose to invest their time in this way, and we’d like to recognise the hard work of those who got involved. To give you a better flavour of how you could be involved, below we’ve listed the projects of four contributors that were completed during this Hacktoberfest.
maks-w improved the styling of our split buttons in [PR #10027], making our interface smoother and more intuitive. Split buttons, used in features like the color pickers in our notebookbar, now clearly differentiate between action and dropdown, enhancing the user experience.
Chirag (Fictionistique) contributed by adding icons for consistency in the mobile browser view in [PR #10267], bringing visual coherence to the “Resolve” and “Resolve Thread” actions.
Aarsh21 submitted two crucial UI fixes [PR #10263] and [PR #10262] to prevent button and formula field overflows in our Function Wizard, ensuring a seamless user interface.
SarthakPaandey updated links on our Collabora community website, replacing Twitter links with x.com [PR #134]. This helpful tweak keeps our website current and connected.
We’re grateful to all who got involved, giving time and expertise to make Collabora Online better. Hacktoberfest 2024 showcased the power of collaboration, and we look forward to growing our community with each passing year!
